Desktop Technical Support / IT Analyst 2nd Line
Desktop Technical Support / IT Analyst 2nd Line required by managed IT services provider based on customer site in London EC1. Salary c£30,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
The role covers all aspects of 1st and 2nd line desktop support including logging calls into Service Manager, business application support, some minor development and supporting clients working remotely from home and remote offices. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, you will have good technical knowledge of supporting the hardware and configuration of desktop, printers & laptops. Previous experience of desktop support within the financial services sector would be highly desirable.
Required technical skills: Active Directory, Exchange 2010, MS XP operating system and MS Windows 7, Office 2010, AirWatch Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory/GPO, Business continuity, Capstone Applications and other market data Access/Excel VBA, Business applications- Fidessa LZ etc
-Provide 1st and 2nd line support to UK based clients across 2 sites -Analyse incidents and problems that occur on workstations and their associated operating systems and software, taking full ownership until it is resolved to the clients’ satisfaction.
-Provide desk side assistance for all other desktop equipment such as iphones/ipads devices, telephones, scanners and printers.
-Maintain an excellent market knowledge of desktop technology to ensure that both IT and the business areas are utilising the best available products -Work with Stock Management to ensure that hardware stock levels are maintained -Analyse incidents on Market data applications, including installation, trouble shooting and liaison with 3rd party vendors and/or Technology internal Market Data team [Bloomberg, Reuters, Fidessa, Capstone etc] -Provide functional assistance with business applications and their interfaces to enable the clients to perform their roles more effectively -Provide value added support and assistance focused on database and spreadsheets, including macro’s and links.
-Create AD and Exchange 2010 accounts
-Build and install PC’s and Laptops with all necessary software and accessories -Use Microsoft SCCM tool to install all standard applications from the central repository -Liaise with Core Services to ensure that the PC and Laptop builds are continually maintained and secured
-Excellent Oral & written communication.

-Strong interpersonal Skills.
-Ability to effectively manage their day to day workload -Ability to multi task & prioritise.
