Directors on the Academic Health Center Solutions/International Medicine & Global Health (AHC) service team will have responsibility for leading large client engagements. This role will work with a Managing Director for each client team to appropriately identify and manage staff for each engagement. Directors are responsible for managing multiple engagements and business development activities and tend to take a more active role in the group’s most complex projects. The position will involve significant on-site client contact with travel of 80% or greater, and may include international travel. Directors are expected to identify new client opportunities and develop and track leads. Directors are considered the group’s thought leaders and should be able to devise engagement approaches and strategies that resonate with client needs and lead to incremental projects and revenue.

Experience within higher education and management consulting, transformation projects for new universities and experience in operational roles, interim management or PMO structures is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience working with universities and/or academic health centers and demonstrated subject matter expertise in university functional areas (administration, research, finance, operations, information technology, human resources)
• Subject matter expertise in at least one of the following: budgeting, finance, organizational structures, planning, resource optimization, or operations and management
• Must have broad understanding of general business concepts and disciplines including finance and accounting
• Client relationship experience working with large organizations is also required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills that can be used to quickly establish client confidence and trust
• Exceptional leadership, project management, and teamwork skills, including time management skills and the ability to motivate and keep teams on task
• High level of sophistication about financial management, organizational assessment, and strategic planning
• Management perspective to translate client feedback into coherent project plans
• Passion and drive for both sales and problem solving
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
• Proven thought leadership as indicated by speaking engagements and/or publications
• Ready-made network of industry contacts and potential prospects
