TRW is delivering leading electrical steering technology to European, Asian and American vehicle manufacturers. We provide our customers with tailor-made solutions for their vehicle launch programmes in global markets.

As the Principal Engineer for Intermediate Shafts, you will head the development of I-shafts from concept through to launch in close cooperation with our suppliers. In this role you will lead a team of project engineers.

What you’ll do

·         Requirements Capturing: Working with customer teams to capture and flow-down vehicle manufacturer specifications to component level

·         Product Design and Development: Leading a team of qualified engineers and cooperating with Global component suppliers to generate market-leading innovative solutions

·         Design Validation and Release: Compile comprehensive validation plans for design release into customer application programmes

·         Innovation: Identify future trends and technologies to maintain market competitiveness

What we are looking for

Essential:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Experience in product development in automotive industry
• Self motivated and able to work without direct supervision
• Willing to travel globally
• Strong supplier facing skills

Desirable:

• Second European language
