Renishaw’s Manufacturing Services Division is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to develop our electronic assembly processes. This challenging role includes strategy development, new process introduction, new product introduction, and the implementation of best practice within the existing manufacturing processes.
Key duties:
• Development of an electronics manufacturing process strategy fitting world class techniques and processes to the Renishaw business requirements
• Justification and implementation of new / best practice electronic manufacturing techniques
• The investigation of electronic assembly engineering related problems and the proposal and implementation of solutions using structured problem solving techniques
• Design for electronics assembly on new products
• Training, mentoring and change implementation
Key requirements:
All applicants are required to have as many of the following as possible:
• A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Electronics, Maths) of 2:1 or above or similar
• Extensive experience of Surface Mount Technology and general PCB assembly
• Experience in the development of electronic manufacturing processes
• Thorough understanding and practical application of electronics design for manufacture principles
• A high level of computer literacy
• A full UK driving licence, as travel to other sites is required
Although not essential it would be desirable if applicants have some of the following:
• Proven advanced knowledge in the development of all surface mount assembly process technologies such as collect and place machinery, screen/paste printing, bare die placement, PoP, micro electronic assembly, various reflow systems and Automated Optical Inspection processes
• Knowledge of Zuken and Altium CAD systems
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and regulatory body quality assurance demands
• Experience in process control, statistical analysis and monitoring
• Problem solving experience (such as Six Sigma Green / black belt)

Person specification:
The successful applicant will be a highly organised and motivated individual. A structured methodology to solving problems is essential, as is a data driven approach to the analysis and justification of major capital investment. Able to work well within a team environment, they will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to inspire, lead and motivate a team. They will be capable and confident of communicating at all levels of the business from shop floor to director level.
Location:
This role is based at the New Mills site near Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire, close to Bristol and the M5. Time will also be spent at the Woodchester Assembly site (10 miles away)
