Quality Assurance Manager

Due to exciting entries into new markets, our client now have a vacancy at our brand new manufacturing facility in Haydock for a Quality Assurance Manager.

About the role

As QA Manager your key focus will be to ensure that our products meet quality, customer, legal and safety requirements and are manufactured 'right first time' in compliance with specifications and standards.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintain the company's existing BRC IOP Grade A and develop the quality management systems in line with legal, customer, company and other best practice requirements to ensure due diligence and the future implementation of ISO standard.
  • Host customer audits and liaise directly with consumers on quality issues, queries, and complaints.
  • Undertake internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Trend customer complaints and investigate these back to root cause and implement robust solutions with the operational teams.
  • Identify and implement quality improvements to reduce issues and product risks.
  • Ensure GMP and Hygiene standards are communicated and enforced.
  • Review, implement and communicate third party and customer standards to the wider business.
  • Develop and deliver training packages and systems to support operational teams in delivering agreed quality procedures.
  • Support and develop product launch programmes.
  • Liaising effectively with the internal teams including attendance of daily production meeting.

About You

You are a quality professional from food contact packaging or food/drink manufacturing. You will have practical experience of implementing BRC/BRC IOP, Quality Management Systems, and ideally ISO standards. You will also have Level 3 HACCP, internal audit experience, allergen awareness and excellent computer skills.

You must be capable of communicating clearly at all levels, adept at problem solving, self-disciplined, highly motivated, and have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the business

Candidates with a knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, a training qualification or First Aid at Work qualification would be a distinct advantage although these could form part of your development plan.

This role is ideal for an individual who is ambitious to develop their career and progress within a growing business. The role has no direct reports, but needs an individual with strong communication and influencing skills as the role works as part of the close knit operations team.

Salary & Benefits

The role of Quality Assurance Manager will pay up to £40,000 per annum (subject to experience), statutory pension, 28 days holiday (including public holidays). Normal hours will be Monday-Friday days, although some weekends and evenings may be required.
