An exciting opportunity to join a leading Pembrokeshire business. We are looking for a Technical Administrator to assist with ensuring that the production of fresh produce is to the highest standards of food safety and quality in accordance with BRC and other regulatory bodies and standards and internal client standards.
The Jobholder will carry out some or all of the following tasks.
Main Duties:
- To undertake a range of duties as directed to ensure compliance with the Company policies and procedures and relevant legislation, food safety, BRC etc.
- To assist with the induction and training of technical and production staff as required.
- To assist with the writing and implementation of the Food Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain archive system of all traceability paperwork to comply with BRC and legislative requirements.
- Assist technical team with regard to audits and customer visits.
- Log, compile and trend customer complaint information. Maintain complaint correspondence.
- Handle third party analysis of foreign bodies and issue report findings internally.
- To assist with pest control visits and reporting, ensuring corrective actions are carried out and report findings internally.
- Provide regular reports and trend analysis on customer complaints and supplier non-compliances.
- Assist technical team to liaise with suppliers on technical and quality related issues; ensuring necessary corrective actions are taken with regard to quality and food safety.
- Handle all aspects of reporting, trending and presenting information in relation to the technical department.
- Assists with routine sampling and testing of of raw ingredients to production and for the release of finished goods to despatch by checking that at every stage the product specification is met.
- Assists with all areas of shelf-life testing as part of product quality monitoring and control.
- In accordance with company policies and procedures puts non-conforming products on hold at any stage in the process to maintain quality and food standards. Brings such actions to the immediate attention of the Technical Manager.
- Assists with applying robust internal controls to ensure integrity and specification of the product including calibration checks, record keeping etc. Brings any non-conformance issues to the immediate attention of the Technical Manager.
- Ensures that product traceability is available through the rigorous maintenance of records.
- Assists with the monitoring of hygiene practices of food handlers and where non-compliance issues occur ensures that the necessary remedial action is taken.
- Ensures that any product or process deviations or other non-compliance issues are identified and that appropriate action is taken in a timely manner.
- Maintains good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Operates a clean as you go regime within their area of responsibility.
- Observes business etiquette and confidentiality at all times.
- The job holder is responsible for his/ her own health and safety and that of others.
- The job holder will attend training courses, Company meetings and other events as required.
