Automation Engineer - Processing Systems

Main tasks:

Development and commissioning of plant automation systems (hardware and software) as part of an overall production solution as a combination of process and automation

  • Program Tetra PlantMaster solutions based on our Siemens and Rockwell platforms.
  • Assist Sales and Engineering with automation evaluations and quotations
  • Perform Hardware configuration, system setup and tests of configurations
  • Provide technical expertise in customer discussions
  • Prepare and perform FAT tests
  • Commission your own code as well as code written by others
  • Manage medium to large scale multiple projects simultaneously to ensure project meets project plans, budget, and contractual obligations
  • Projects will be run mostly in UK, but work on projects in other countries will be expected.

To succeed in this position you need to act as a positive & proactive driven team player possessing a university degree in Automation Engineering in combination with a minimum of 5 years working experience in this area.

  • The automation project scope includes the complete S95/S88 model (Recipe Handling, HMI, PLC, Data Acquisition and Traceability). 
  • Dairy experience is an important plus.
  • Development and commissioning of plant automation systems are expected.
  • Experience from project management is important but not vital.




  • Wonderware platform, Archestra and InTouch
  • Siemens S7 programming or/and ControlLogix
  • Databases and SQL-scripting, networks and Windows environment.
  • Programming in Tetra PlantMaster is advantageous.

You must have a willingness to share your competence but also assist the other members of the team. There will be situations where you are under stress and then it’s important to remain calm and continue to work with a smile on your face

You should have a good mindset regarding how to treat customers. You will be responsible for leading meetings, suggesting new solutions and making quick decisions. All in direct contact with our customers.

Additional Requirement: Driving license

Work Place Environment:

We can offer you a very pleasant working environment, an open atmosphere, and challenging customers. The position is based in High Wycombe but travelling will be a natural part of your work. Being an automation engineer will include periods of on-site commissioning, occasional weekend work as well as support to our PlantCare team.
It is expected that you will travel about 25% of your time.


Induction Training: 
Depending on your gained experience Tetra Pak will assist with training in Tetra PlantMaster, Project leadership or Dairy competence.
