Distribution Centre Manager

Summary:
To effectively manage the efficient performance of the distribution centre to the required standards of the company and to meet customer specifications and expectations. To effectively lead, supervise and develop distribution centre staff and support colleagues across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- ensuring all staff under your management and leadership meet all standards of performance and adhere to all agreed processes and procedures
- dealing with all staff members in accordance with the company’s HR policies and procedures
- managing staff levels and mix of skills and capabilities to ensure the team meets the requirements of the business
- motivating all staff to perform to their best and communicating effectively across the business
- reviewing the distribution centre requirements with supervisors and managing resources effectively
- ensuring all stock is delivered, stored and despatched in a satisfactory manner and meets quality standards through monitoring the work of the staff
- ensuring contractors working on site have provided method statements as required and follow the approved safety procedures
- managing the perpetual inventory program to ensure accuracy of stock at all times
- ensuring faulty stock is immediately identified and dealt with according to agreed procedures
- ensuring all relevant staff pack to the required rate and standard set by the business
- ensuring that the Goods In / Out supervisor adheres to the agreed procedure to ensure that stock is located in an agreed area for despatch with all necessary paperwork completed accurately 
- ensuring all staff comply with health and safety standards and meet operational requirements

Qualifications:
NVQ Business Systems & Administration Management

Experience & Skills:
-Warehouse Management Experience
- Working in a fully established SME, and the ability to adapt to a similar environment whilst understanding company traditions and ways of working
-3PL contract management
- Retail Supply Chain Distribution
-Excellent communication and man-management skills including conflict management
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Decision-making

Other Requirements:
- A full clean driving licence.
- CRB check
