About The Ice Co

About The Ice Co
The Ice Co is a family company with a history reaching back over 150 years. Joseph Marr was the man who started it all way back in 1860. His fishing fleet needed to keep their catch cold while at sea so he started importing glacial ice from Norway. We don't import it from Norway anymore though, it's made in Yorkshire and Lancashire using state of the art purification and production techniques. We are still family owned to this day, with all three members of the sixth generation of the Marr family occupying hands on roles in the business.

The Ice Co is an award winning market leader who dominate the market of ice cube sales in the UK. The business has grown to be Europe's largest manufacturer of ice, thanks to the hard work of five generations of the Marr family. We have a valued team of over 300 colleagues working across 6 UK sites. Some sites produce ice and frozen drinks, some bottle spring water and some store and distribute frozen products.
