Barrett Steel Ltd is one of the UK's largest independent steel stockholders, with a turnover of circa £250 million. The Group comprises forty-seven operating companies, working across twenty-five locations in the UK and US. Customers cover a broad spectrum of industries internationally including Construction, Oil & Gas, Transport, Aerospace, Engineering and Manufacturing.
Following the MBO in 1992, Barrett has actively perused expansion into new and expanding markets. Most recently this has resulted in the creation of a Energy Products Division, focussing on the rapid growth in demand for Barrett's products within the Oil & Gas sector. Energy Products has established sites in Houston and Montrose and is now about to enter the next phase of growth and expansion. Critical in the business achieving its growth targets and potential will be the recruitment of a Branch Director - Montrose. The Branch Director will devise and lead the plan to take the business to a turnover of £6 million within the next two years.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable sales background with strong commercial acumen and have experience of working within the engineering and manufacturing sector, preferably selling into the oil & gas sector.
