Our client is a world leading provider of telehealthcare solutions, operating in more than 30 countries. They employ over 1000 people and support 2.5m people around the world.
They are now looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental professional to join their busy team. You will provide a comprehensive service to all managers and teams and ensure that the company is in full compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental and Waste Management legislations. Working to develop and promote a positive health and safety culture, you will ensure employee awareness, provide extensive reports and maintain the risk management system regularly.
Liaising closely with the Health and Safety Executive and the Environmental Agency, your main responsibility will be to provide and a safe and healthy working environment for the managers, teams and sub-contractors in line with company policies. Other duties will include project management of any site upgrades, and developing appropriate training programmes as and when required.
They are looking for an excellent communicator who has an eye for detail and can effectively manage a small team. Educated to HND level, you need to be qualified with a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent, and/or NVQ Level 3. With solid experience in a fast-paced HS&E department, gained within a manufacturing/contracting environment, you will have liaised effectively with the HSE and other statutory bodies. A good level of IT literacy (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint) is essential, as is the ability to handle multiple projects within set time scales, and experience of working within a CDM environment.
Working knowledge of BOHS 402 Building Surveys & Bulk Sampling for Asbestos, an IOSH Qualification/Membership and practiced in in developing Environmental Management to ISO 14001, are all key to be successful in this challenging role.
Due to the nature of this post, flexibility is essential, as it requires some travel throughout the UK, and limited international travel as and when required.
