About the Job
2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer required with the following support function attributes:
Hardware Support - Diagnosing hardware faults, installing components including Graphics Cards, Motherboards etc. Software Support - We support a large variety of applications and are responsible for resolving any software issues the Helpdesk cannot resolve. Offshore Support - We support approx 500 offshore users remotely. Occasional offshore trips are required but offshore certification is not essential. Printer Support - Basic printer hardware support knowledge required e.g. clearing jams, act as first line support and contact 3rd party support if required. Network patching and resolving basic network connectivity issues are essential Phone Administration - Deploying IP and digital phones, configuring both the hardware and profiles within Avaya Telephony Manager. PC imaging via SCCM Deploying software packages and advertising them via SCCM Blackberry Support - Acting as first point of contact for any Blackberry issues, troubleshooting problems on the device and the Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1, adding new users to the BES. Performing daily\weekly\monthly backup checks to ensure the completion of offshore server backups using Veritas NetBackup 6. Meeting room maintenance, checks and assistance including VCC units. Providing loan equipment to users, ensuring sign out form is completed, all peripherals are included and everything is in full working order. Completing PC\Phone relocations, major relocations occasionally done out of hours.
Ideally the contract would suit a individual with at least 1 years Helpdesk experience followed by 1-2 years solid Desktop Support experience. Oil and Gas sector experience would be a big plus.
