QA Lead - Chordiant
About the Job
Responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day tasks for the QA team, assigning issues, assuring product coverage through test scripts
Weekly meetings to discuss progress with QA team
Weekly meetings with Project Manager and external customers to provide updates on progress of scheduled releases
Release management for multiple software releases per calendar year and production of release sign-off documentation for same
Work with team members to scope, plan, review, track and release assigned project deliverables. Generation of test plans, test scripts and test reports.
Work with project management and development team to identify functional/performance/robustness/scalability/load tests to verify requirements and expected behaviours.
Define, produce, maintain and report applicable test metrics to internal management
Establish suitable test procedures and work practices.
Establish suitable test environments to support multiple platform environments.
Contribute to the continual improvement of the team.
Experience with multi application solutions and web-based applications.
Knowledge of software test/release process and configuration management.
Thorough understanding of testing methodologies, including test automation.
Strong Communication skills working with local & remote teams providing regular updates and escalating issues when necessary.
Accurate documentation of bugs using Rational Clear Quest and providing support to development in resolving these issues.
Desired Candidate Profile:
5+ years experience working within the software industry on client/server or web applications.
Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server products
Good working knowledge of SQL and a good understanding of RDBMS
Experience in all phases of the Software development lifecycle.
Advantageous:
Working knowledge of MIS activities within an Educational Institution
Experience as liaison between business leaders, technical resources, quality assurance specialists and senior management teams
Customer and Project Management experience
Knowledge of ASP, .NET, XML and Microsoft development environments
