Teacher of Foundation Learning

Teacher of Foundation Learning required for April or September 2017 - Maidstone, Kent

Teacher of Foundation Learning
Required for April or September 2017

Valley Park School has received two outstanding Ofsted reports. Ofsted commented that our work is 'exemplary'. It is the school of choice in the Maidstone area and the most over-subscribed school in Kent. Student achievement, behaviour, teaching and learning and leadership are all outstanding.

The school is in the top 2% of all schools nationally for value added, a position it has maintained over the previous 5 years. We have a sixth form of over 300 students and a £3.4 million new teaching block, including a new library, opened in March 2014.

We have an innovative 'Foundation Learning Department' with the primary goal of enabling all the children to achieve their potential. We have been working closely with local primary schools and recognise that our key focus needs to be the excellent teaching of mathematics and English to help all children to achieve a good grade in English and mathematics at KS4 and access learning across the curriculum.

As such we are seeking outstanding practitioners to teach English or mathematics to low attaining and vulnerable students and provide focused support to other children on the SEN register.

Posts are available for specialists in English and Mathematics at KS3 and 4.

You will need to have a passion for teaching vulnerable students, or students with SEN and an ability to plan and prepare differentiated lessons in your specialist subject area.

We actively encourage you to visit the school and decide for yourself if this is the right move for you. Contact Richard Lanning, our Partnership recruiter, on 01273 729465 to arrange a visit and for all application information.

The closing date is 9 March 2017 at 12 noon. Please note the Trust has the right to appoint before the deadline.
