Teacher of History required for "Good" Eastbourne secondary school. Start September

Your new company
Your new school is an Ofsted rated "Good" mixed 11-16 community comprehensive school of average size based in the Eastbourne area of East Sussex. They believe that each individual student is important and entitled to the very best education. They want their students to make outstanding progress with high expectations for all and last years celebrated their highest grades to date. Your new role
In your new History teaching job you will enjoy working within a secondary school situated in the Eastbourne area and will specialise within Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be working from September 2017 for an academic year on a permanent basis. You will teach KS3 and KS4 GCSE level History. You will be responsible for developing the students and guiding them on ways to improve. You will plan and prepare lessons, as well as setting appropriate homework and coursework and have regular contact with students. Working as a History Teacher for Hays will also allow you to have access to a number of partnership schools that would be inaccessible by any other means, and you will be given the opportunity to focus on teaching in the Key Stage you specialise in.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a Secondary History Teacher you will need to have qualified teacher status, or be looking to complete your induction year. You will also need to have recent experience within a classroom setting in the last five years and be up to date with recent curriculum changes. You will need to be a creative and positive teacher who is able to embrace new surroundings and situations, whilst demonstrating a professional manor at all times. You will have strong classroom management skills with the ability to adapt to unfamiliar plans and timetables. It is imperative that you have good communication skills as this is crucial when speaking to other members of staff and people in the school.
